Welcome to Maple Shade Farm

We are Jessica & Peter  MacGregor

Peter was born and raised right here in Groton Massachusetts.  He grew up always having chickens, goats, cattle and horses. He found his love of  farming as a very young child. Most days working side by side with his dad on their family farm.

Peter went to the University of Massachusetts  in Amherst MA, and graduated from UMASS Stockbridge, majoring in General Horticulture. He is the manager at a local feed store, and has extensive knowledge of livestock nutrition and animal husbandry.

He is affectionately referred to as " The Hay Boss" by his family, because he is always raring to get into the hay fields!

The farm has been in the MacGregor family since 1915.

Jessica was born and raised in Western Massachusetts. Growing up her family raised pigs, cattle, and chickens. She spent her youth  riding her horse and raising rabbits. She was active in 4H as well. Showing her rabbits at fairs. She began selling rabbits to local pet stores as a child.

She proudly worked for and trained with an Arabian horse farm, showing at Regional and National levels. She then was a CNA for several years. While she enjoyed caring for people, she knew her true calling was to raise her children and run the day to day farm operations.

Most days you can find her in a barn of some sort, taking care of the animals on our farm. If time allows she truly enjoys, just sitting with them drinking a cup of coffee

We  knew that we wanted to raise our children in the same way that we

were brought up.

Raising our 4 children in this lifestyle is something we are very thankful for. To have the ability to teach them about respect, compassion and responsibility through our land and animals, is immeasurable.  We all  share a love of the outdoors and find our happiest and most peaceful moments surrounded by our animals.

Working in the fields, pastures or just walking in the woods.

Our animals are all raised with love and respect from the moment they are born. Our family members are the only people who have regular hands on

contact with our animals.

With  that kind of attention we can know each animal personally.

Our life is 100% dedicated to our farm.
